Terms of use
What you agree to
Jogeum is made by Alvin Impang, Ontario, Canada ("we"). When you download or use Jogeum, you agree to two things:
- Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the EULA). In the EULA, we are the licensor.
- These terms, including the community rules.
These terms add to the EULA. If they conflict about your licence to use the app, the EULA applies.
Subscriptions
You need an active subscription or an eligible free trial to read in Jogeum. The plans, prices and any free trial are shown in the app and on Apple's purchase sheet before you subscribe. Apple decides whether you are eligible for a free trial.
- Apple charges your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged.
- You manage and cancel subscriptions with Apple. See how to cancel. Apple handles refunds.
- Deleting the app or your Jogeum account does not cancel a subscription.
Your account
Jogeum gives your iPhone a guest account automatically. You can sign in with Apple to turn it into a permanent account, which you need to like and comment. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account in the app. See the privacy policy.
What you post
You keep ownership of the comments you post. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store them, have them checked automatically for abuse, and show them to other members and to moderators in Jogeum, for as long as they stay in the app. You promise that you have the right to post what you post.
The community rules apply to everything you post. We may hold or remove a comment and block a member who breaks them. You can report a comment, block a member and remove your own comments in the app.
AI-generated content
The sentences, translations, word notes and voices in Jogeum are generated by AI. They can contain mistakes, and AI speech can vary. Pronunciation guides are an aid. Jogeum is a way to meet Korean sentences, not a replacement for a teacher or a course.
Using Jogeum
Do not copy, scrape or resell Jogeum's sentences, translations or audio. Do not try to get around the subscription or to break or overload our servers.
Ending your use
You can stop using Jogeum at any time. We may suspend or end a member's access to the community if they break the community rules. The EULA says how your licence to use the app ends.
Warranty and liability
The EULA covers warranty and liability for the app. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we provide Jogeum as it is and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer protection law gives you where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Ontario can decide disputes about them, except where mandatory law lets you go to court where you live.
Changes
We post changes to these terms on this page and update the effective date at the top. If you keep using Jogeum after a change, you accept it.
