Jogeum

Privacy policy

Effective 29 October 2026

Who we are

Jogeum is made by Alvin Impang, Ontario, Canada. We decide what personal information the app collects and why. Questions about this policy go to jogeum.support@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

Your guest account

The first time you open Jogeum, it makes a guest account for your iPhone. The account is a random ID with the times it was created and last used. It has no name or email address. It lets you subscribe and read without signing up. If you delete Jogeum and install it again, you get a new guest account, and Restore Purchases brings your subscription back.

Sign in with Apple (optional)

If you sign in with Apple, your guest account becomes a permanent account, and we receive an Apple user identifier. Jogeum does not ask Apple for your name or email address, so we do not receive them. We never receive your Apple password. We use the identifier to sign you in, to keep your account across your devices and to let you like and comment.

Likes, comments, reports and blocks

When you are signed in with Apple, we store the sentences you like, the comments you post, the reports you make (with the reason you choose) and the members you block. They are linked to your account ID. Members who are signed in with Apple can read your comments. They see the random display name Jogeum gives you when you first agree to the community rules (such as “Quiet Heron 4821”), or “Member”; never your Apple name or email address. A moderator can replace a display name that breaks the community rules with a new random one. Each comment you post is checked automatically for abuse by OpenAI's moderation service: we send the comment text only, never your account ID or name, and a comment it flags is hidden. A comment that three members report is hidden too. Moderators can read reported and hidden comments and the reason given. A comment that has not reached our server yet is kept on your iPhone so Jogeum can try again.

Your subscription

Apple takes the payment. We never see your card or your Apple ID details. Jogeum uses RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your account ID and your purchase details from Apple, such as the product, the dates and the status. We see whether you have access and when it ends.

When you read

Jogeum asks our feed server for sentences and audio. Each request carries a token that proves who you are. The server uses it to check with Supabase that your session is still valid and with RevenueCat that your subscription is active. For that it sends them your account ID, not your name. Like every internet service, our providers receive technical details with each request, such as your IP address, the time and the type of device. They may keep these details in logs to deliver the service and keep it secure.

What stays on your iPhone

Jogeum keeps these on your iPhone and does not send them to us:

This information is deleted when you delete Jogeum. Deleting your account does not remove it.

Alerts (optional)

If you turn on theme alerts, Jogeum asks iOS for permission and schedules reminders on your iPhone. Jogeum has no push notification server and never receives a device token. You can turn alerts off in Jogeum's Settings or in iOS Settings.

Crash reports

Jogeum has no crash-reporting or analytics SDK. If you have chosen to share iPhone analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports. We receive nothing otherwise.

No ads, tracking or analytics

Jogeum shows no ads. It does not track you across other companies' apps and websites, does not use an advertising identifier, and does not sell personal information. The app includes software from Supabase and RevenueCat, described below. It includes no advertising or analytics software.

AI-generated content

The sentences, translations, word notes and voices in Jogeum are generated by AI before they reach the app. They can contain mistakes. In Jogeum, Settings › About the content says whether a Korean educator has reviewed them. Apart from the comment check described above, Jogeum does not send your information to an AI service, and we do not use your information to train AI models.

Who handles your information

We use these providers to run Jogeum. We do not sell your information or give it to others for their own purposes. We may disclose it if the law requires. These providers store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

Delete your account

In Jogeum, tap Settings, then Account, then Delete account, and confirm with Apple. Your account and its likes, comments, reports and blocks are deleted at once. Jogeum also asks Apple to end its Sign in with Apple access. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. See how to cancel.

If you have only a guest account, the app has nothing to delete. Email jogeum.support@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Under Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and any provincial law that applies to you, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent. Email jogeum.support@gmail.com. We will answer within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

You can also turn alerts off, delete your account in the app, and remove Jogeum from your Apple ID's sign-in list (see Apple's page on Sign in with Apple).

Children

Jogeum is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Jogeum talks to our servers over HTTPS and keeps your sign-in session in the iOS Keychain. No service is perfectly secure.

Changes to this policy

We post changes on this page and update the effective date at the top.
